South Warren, meanwhile, has split in its four games, including a 35-21 loss at the hands of Greenwood. The Spartans (6-5) made the long trip to Graves County to open postseason play, and South Warren took care of that game with little trouble, claiming a 36-7 victory in Mayfield, Kentucky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Which has led us to the inevitable. Of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rematch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Friday night&#8217;s showdown on the BGHS campus. The Spartans are the clear underdog for Friday night&#8217;s showdown on the BGHS campus. It&#8217;s not as stressful. We&#8217;re almost playing with house money.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Likewise, the BGHS players understand they may have the upper hand, personnel wise, but there were five lead changes before the Purples pulled out the 28-24 triumph over South on September 30. Huddleston&#8217;s 1-yard TD run proved to be the difference, and players from both teams acknowledged a rematch was likely on the horizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s always going to be a competitive game,&#8221; senior BGHS cornerback Augie Nyembo said. &#8220;We know it&#8217;s going to be a competitive game. We&#8217;ve got to stop the running game, first. Whoever comes out of this one will be considered a team that can make a run to state. We meet with our seniors every Thursday, in game week, and they&#8217;ve taken it upon themselves to get us mentally ready to play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We know we&#8217;re going to get (South&#8217;s) absolute best. They&#8217;re always well coached. They play with a high level of intensity and effort. He has been intercepted five times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bailey&#8217;s South counterpart, Bryce Button, has completed 165 of 269 passes (64 percent) for 1,969 yards and 19 touchdowns. We&#8217;ve got to play our game and execute.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bailey has a similar sense of urgency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve got to be mentally prepared, go out there and set the tone early,&#8221; Bailey said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bailey&#8217;s center, BGHS senior Isaiah Martin, is quick to agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;If our offensive line plays well, we&#8217;ll have a good night,&#8221; Martin said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t think their defensive backs can cover our receivers. Some self-inflicted wounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The difference, of course, is this time we came out on top.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series is tied at five games apiece.
